Do you charge extra for holidays?
Yes — holiday visits are billed at $50 per visit to reflect premium scheduling and staff availability. Observed holidays include New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Thanksgiving.
What happens during extreme weather?
Your dog’s comfort and safety always come first. If temperatures drop below 10°F (or wind chill reaches –10°F) or rise above 98°F, walks may be shortened for safety. In these cases, we focus on potty breaks and indoor playtime to keep your companion safe and happy.
When can I book or request a walk?
Walks are available daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Walks are performed within a two-hour window — for example, if a walk is scheduled for 9:00 AM, it may occur anytime between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Members may schedule, cancel, or reschedule between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Same-day bookings are happily accommodated when possible — we ask for at least three hours’ notice so we can reserve your walker and maintain the seamless experience Velvet Leash is known for.
Can I cancel or reschedule a walk?
Velvet Leash was built on trust and understanding — we know schedules shift. Members may cancel or reschedule up to three hours before a scheduled walk at no charge. If a cancellation is made within three hours, the visit will be counted toward that week’s membership allotment, as the time has been reserved exclusively for your pup.
Do unused walks roll over?
Walks are non-transferable and do not roll over to the following month. Memberships are designed to provide reliable, consistent care and dedicated time with your assigned walker each week.
Can I add an extra walk outside my membership?
Absolutely — additional walks are available to all active members. Extra visits can be scheduled any day from 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM, subject to availability. Each additional 25-minute walk is billed at $33 per visit, and we ask for at least three hours’ notice so we can reserve your walker and deliver the same level of care you expect from your membership.
🐾 What if I have more than one dog?
We love multi-dog households! A second dog from the same home is included in your membership as long as they walk easily together and maintain good behavior. An additional charge only applies for dogs that are unruly, reactive, or require separate handling.
What kind of updates will I receive?
You’ll receive live tracking links and daily photo updates from your walker, so you’re always connected to your dog’s adventures — even when you’re away.
